How did you come up with the name Zherosha?
The planet once had a different name, but I was 12 or 13 at the time and it sounded almost like a knock-off copier of a more familiar brand. When I started to write Elusive Retrospection I knew I needed to come up with a new name. So I used a sci-fi planet generator to maybe get some ideas, with no luck. So I took all the character's name an created a list of phonemes that I could use. Zherosha rolled off the tongue just nicely and fit well into the general idea of their language.
Why not go with a publisher?
I wanted to keep full rights to my work. I don't know how many times I heard of some kid writing a fanfic story of their favorite book, only to be sued by the actual rights owner - the publisher. I'd love to see what fans can come up with, without the threat of a lawsuit. I do have plans of building a community of fan fiction authors in the near future.
Are you going to write more books?
Yes, but since I'm not going with a known publisher, I have to pay for everything - Editor, artwork (although I did it myself if you hadn't noticed), promotion, etc. etc. I'm in a catch-22 right now. I don't have the money for advertising for the first book, which would have generated sales, that would have helped pay for the second. And considering I was only able to go to one editor once, I missed a few errors in the first book. I may have to relaunch it. But first, I started a merch store to see if I can generate enough revenue to go full out on a good editor and even cover designer.
